To the praise of His glory

Join us at our Life Teen liturgies on Sunday evening at 5:30 PM.
Our goal is to create a warm and loving faith community in which everyone feels welcomed and can witness the love of our Savior. The ensemble strives to encourage greater participation by the youth of the parish in the celebration of the Mass and in their interaction with the parish community. The music chosen by the Ensemble is liturgically appropriate, inspirational and exciting.

Eric Paul Carreiro, Director
Eric Paul Carreiro is a native of Massachusetts and a recent transplant to Texas, the home state of his wife Misty. Degreed in Music Theory and Composition, Eric is a lifelong working musician with experience in many musical genres. His personal journey has led quite naturally to the union of his chosen craft and his faith; for the last fifteen years, he has held positions in sacred music that have served people of all ages and diverse cultural backgrounds. Eric finds tremendous joy in the music that unites us in prayer. He looks forward with great excitement to life here among Austin's faithful as a husband, father and musician for Christ.

Interested in Joining?
The LifeTeen Music Ensemble at Saint John Neumann is looking for new members! Our group of dedicated singers and instrumentalists hopes to continue growing in strength and number, to better serve our Lord and the worship community. New voices as well as instruments of virtually every type are invited to join us, either as ongoing members or to 'sit in' for special celebrations and pieces of music. If you are interested in offering your own musical gift back to our Lord –– who gave it to you –– please consider doing so with us! For more information, stop by after Mass; or contact Eric, the group's director, through the parish office or via email: ecarreiro@sjnaustin.org

About the Ensemble
The Life Teen Ensemble was formed by volunteers, to bring contemporary worship music to the parish's Sunday evening youth Mass. Since the Ensemble's first mass on November 1, 1998, the Sunday evening liturgy has grown to one of the most popular masses at Saint John Neumann. Music selections are based on the day's readings and the liturgical season. Resources used for music recommendations includes the Life Teen program and recent Youth Ministry conferences. Most of our selections are licensed through Christian Copyright Licensing International or Oregon Catholic Press.
